The mansion, originally a Georgian gentleman's residence and, in later years a country hotel has been providing the highest quality care for the elderly since 1993. Since its conversion to a high standard hotel the mansion has been sympathetically adapted to provide a comfortable and homely environment enabling a dignified and unrestricted lifestyle to be maintained for its 15 residents.
Waungron is a small and homely residential care home that offers that personal touch, consisting of single bedded rooms, most with en-suite provision and equipped with call systems, remote control television and smoke detectors. Rooms are fully furnished, however residents are encouraged to bring personal items with them if they so wish.
The care offered matches the surroundings without intruding on the level of independence of the residents who are encouraged to lead full and active lives according to their abilities.
There are two comfortable lounges and residents may choose to take some, or all, of their meals in the main dining room or in their own rooms. Any special diets area catered for by the Home's experienced cook. All food is freshly cooked on the premises and, in season, vegetables are often taken from the garden.
